I'm home...well I've been home since 2:30 this morning. I slept from 5:30 until 8:30 and am about to go to bed in a bit. Teresa's family was nice. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. The worst part was just sitting there smiling while Teresa and her family were talking in Chinese. Occaisionally I'd make out an English word and I could barely follow what they were talking about, but for the most part I just listened to see if they were asking me anything (in English). Her mom wasn't scary at all (I had been warned that she was). I'm glad I had all the years of the "nice guy" syndrome as practice. It came in handy in spades. I don't ever want to have to go through meeting a girlfriend's parents again though, and hope I won't have to. Don't read too much into that, it's just the release of tension from the weekend. :)

Some more good news came tonite when Teresa called me to let me know she was home...

TERESA GOT A FULL RIDE TO UT MEMPHIS!!!! She's getting all the fees paid for and getting $18,000/year as a teaching assistant! W00T! I am sooooooooooo excited now!
I've been kinda holding off on convincing myself that she was really coming here because it wasn't concrete, but I'd say that pretty much seals it. =) I'm letting myself believe now. Whooo!

Now to try and get some sleep. =)

I'm glad things turned out well for you. It must have been frustrating to not know what they were saying. Aren't you glad my parents spoke English? :)

I'm not sure...Not knowing what they were saying is also kinda like an "ignorance is bliss" type of thing.
Teresa said her grandmother liked me and thought I was cute, and that was the person who's opinion really mattered. And I got a hug, which Teresa said her grandmother never does except for family. :)
