My AppleTV is on its way to Memphis via Shenzhen, China. It is due to be here the 29th. I hope the new version is as hackable as the older ones. I have plans for a larger hard drive in it to store my DVD library in addition to using it to watch rented movies and video podcasts. We tried the new iTunes movie rentals last weekend on my laptop by renting The Simpsons Movie. It worked pretty well. The movie was about 950MB, and 24 hours after I started watching it, the movie deleted itself. Well iTunes deleted it, but on the whole it worked pretty well. I'd prefer a flat fee plan like Netflix though. Paying $3.99 (or $4.99 for HD) will get old very quickly.
