yakk0dotorgTeresa found out that she was accepted into UT Memphis! Woot! This long distance thing has been taking a toll on us, but in the end I'm sure it's all going to be worth it. A girl at the Mug tonite mis-heard me and exclaimed "You got engaged?" Of course I quickly replied "Yep!" but quickly recanted it. I haven't said something like that in a while. If I could get Teresa over that fear of commitment thing though...
*cough* Ahem...anyways, I'm moving EVERYTHING this weekend. I gotta be out of the Apartment by Tuesday, and hopefully Bill will be able to help me move my last big stuff tomorrow. I'm thinking that as an incentive to hurry up and get out that the computers (Cybertron and Starscream, Optimus Prime is already in the new place) moved, but not hook them up until everything else is there. Self torture at its best. I still haven't finished my plans for the home network and how I'm going to set up everything. I do plan on moving yakk0.org off of the computer sitting on my desk here at work as soon as I can, but I'm trying to figure out how I want my server (Cybertron) organized. I've played with a bunch of Linux distros, but I think I'll go back to Mandrake 8.2. Mandrake was the Linux I learned on, and even though I've now been playing with OS X's Unixy center and messed with Debian some, Mandrake is still comfortable to me. I feel a lot more confident with Samba and Apache now, but having said that I know it's going to be a major disaster.
As far as my gateway goes, I want to go back and try Freesco again. I was running it before my cable modem got disconnected and was pretty pleased with it. Much better and more full featured than my Linksys router.
Boy, I've babbled more here than I have before. I think I'm gonna go home now to play with Mandrake in VMWare and do some practice installs.
