why do toothaches have to hurt so bad?

I broke my temporary cap again over the weekend. Teresa got me some stuff that's supposed to re-cement it, and it's kinda working but I must really clench my teeth in my sleep lately, because it's nothing but a bruise right now. I have no idea how I'm going to make it through the day. I have a meeting at 1:00 that I'm in charge of, and a group meeting before class today for a different class's project. Would a mouth guard help in this situation, or would that put pressure on all my teeth?

Poligrip and an ASAP trip to the dentist are the only things that will help.

I was having trouble with my crown tooth a few days ago- was miserable to even touch the side of my face. It got better, but I'm going to the dentist this afternoon.

my dentist was able to fit me in (being 5 minutes away helps), and he got it back on. apparently they've been using their strongest cement and it still is popping off due to the pressure I put on it when I sleep. He reshaped it and hopefully it'll last now. The permanent one goes on after Thanksgiving.
