knoxville report
Nov. 12th, 2005 08:59 pmThis morning we drove into Knoxville, passed a $20 lot and a $20 garage, and managed to find a $5 garage operated by UT. I'll take it. Next time we play up here, I'd recommend parking there. It's about 3 or 4 blocks from Market Square.
The pep rally was great! The band they had was from Atlanta and called Loose Change. They read the crowd well and when something wasn't getting a reaction they changed quickly. A funny moment, they tried to get the crowd to repond by calling us from Tennessee, but meaning from the state, and another band member quickly realized and corrected him and got "I meant the STATE, not the SCHOOL!" from the first guy. It was funny.
The band and cheerleaders rocked! My big complaint is that we don't have many cheers, they did all of them at least twice.
got to say that I didn't have a single unpleasant experience with a UT fan up here. The ones that sat in our area were very nice. Could be because of the year they're having though, but I've heard that they're nicer up here than in Memphis.
We're completely spent and exhausted now. I'm glad I started working out last week, my legs wouldn't have taken it if I hadn't. A couple good bulldozers could flatten this place out and make it a lot easier to walk to the stadium.
We're going to explore the area a bit before leaving tomorrow. I want to try and get some good mountain pictures.
