yakk0dotorgThis has been a pretty productive weekend. Yesterday I tailgated with some old friends from the BSU for a kinda bachelor party for one of the guys (and missed a BSU alumni breakfast because apparently I'm not in their database...not that I'm bitter...), then I met up with Teresa for the football game and the Tigers are now 2 games away from going to another bowl. Last night I stayed up way too late working on finishing some code and design updates for a site I have. I had a sudden flash of inspiration, and had to work on it before I forgot it. Here's the current site, and here's the new one. I think it looks a little better, and it's a lot cleaner on the backend and easier for to update. When I take it live it'll also finally be off my DSL line and onto my dreamhost account.
Today I spent the day making sure my dreamhost databases are backed up twice daily, and setting up my photo gallery on dreamhost and off my Mac at work. It's not there yet, but it will be soon. I like that I'm consolidating everything into one place. It'll also make it easier for me when I move, I won't have to worry about getting a business class road runner account because I won't need a static IP anymore.
Through all this I've learned quite a bit about some mysql, php, and general linux admin stuff. I feel accomplished. Now I should get to bed so I can deal with stupid windows problems in the morning. Weekends like this are such a relief.
