I'm going nuts. 2 weeks until Fan Fest. The football season kicks off a week after that. Mississippi fans are really starting to piss me off. Tennessee fans are continuing to piss me off. I want this football season to start so finally at least some of the smack talk will end for a while.

At least I'm sure of something. Nothing sucks like a big orange.

That pic of Toombs was what threw me over the edge as far as Mississippi goes. I couldn't compose any rational reply so I let the "ban?" smilie I had speak for myself.

Let me say for clarity, I have as strong a disdain for UT as the next guy. I can't stand the big orange. But that being said, you aren't expecting the Tigers to waltz into Knoxville and steal a win are you?

I always expect a win. We were just shy of one in 99, and this is a totally different Tiger team. I don't think it'll be easy, but I'm sure it's going to be a good game, win or lose.

Don't get me wrong, I think you guys will be fine. The Tigers will struggle mightily, but a bowl game is a definite possibility. Tennessee is, unfortunately, a fringe national title contender. That defense is going to be AWESOME. I just have a hard time belieiving you guys are gonna be able to move the ball much unless the new QB shows some kind of uncanny mastering of the passing game. Not to mention you have to play in Knoxville.

Don't forget...UT was #6 or 7 and when they played us in 96. :) I'm an eternal optimist and will keep hoping until it's clear we can't win.

Its a good thing to be an eternal optimist. But 2 things about '96, #1, that game was here, not in Knoxville like this year's. #2, Memphis doesn't exactly field the same quality of defense that they did back then. UT has seen Joe Lee Dunn before and will know what to expect. Again, I am NOT saying you guys can't win, and I think you should be optimistic. I'm just saying that right now, on paper, I can't see it. But that's now, and that's on paper. Best of luck to them. Any day the Vols lose is a good day in my book;)
