OK, that was an absolutely friggin screwjob that the Tigers got tonight. The team fought like hell, but when you're having to play against 5 players and 3 refs you have no chance. It's a hard loss, but I respect our guys for their poise afterwords and for never giving up.
CUSA Refs suck.

It's the perfect end to a perfect day. My week's been horrible. Monday my car died. My cousin Jason, who's a mechanic for Mercedes, came over tonight and it's not looking like a big problem. Looks like my belt came off and the engine overheated. We're gonna get it fixed tomorrow I hope. I've got some money earmarked in my tax refund for something other than car repairs...

So [livejournal.com profile] azngal324and I are sharing her car right now (Thanks sweetie, I know you hate it). Today at lunch I noted it was low on gas but I didn't get a chance to get any until after work on my way to pick [livejournal.com profile] azngal324 up from work. I was by the Cap'n D's on Union when the car ran out of gas. in the left lane. On Union. At 5:30pm. 2 different cops stopped and one almost gave me a ticket. I was luckily right across from the gas station I was heading for, so I got a little in there then we filled up after I picked up [livejournal.com profile] azngal324.

Then the Tiger game happened...

midway through it our friends Nic and Alison came by, right when Jason did actually, (thanks Tivo for the big orange pause button!) and showed us a shiney on her hand. Congratulations to them, but inside I can't help but  admit I was burning up inside and kicking myself. I'm glad for them, but I was sure we would be engaged first. It's probably compounded by the stupid refs in the Tiger game, but I can't help feeling jealous that it's not us. But an opportunity to talk to the father is possibly coming up. If it happens and I don't do it then I'm going to literally beat myself up for being such a wuss.

so yeah...I think I'm going to go up to Republic and drown my sorrows in some tea (because their coffee tastes worse than boiled socks).

Don't wait for a chance to "come up" to talk to her dad. If you make a special effort and call him to make plans to talk he'll respect you all that much more.

Aggressiveness is a positive quality in a man, especially in the job world.

I agree with Robin. TALK TO HER DAD. He'll respect you more for taking the initiative. And it doesn't have to be the perfect setting for the conversation, either. I mean, Evan went over to my dad's office in the middle of the afternoon to ask him. :)

Sorry things have been annoying lately. If the car problem is the belt, that is easy and cheap to fix. (I've been learning things.)
