Dec. 1st, 2004 10:36 amThis is regarding both the beverage I ordered and the service I received yesterday. I love Starbucks Peppermint Mochas, but I'm allergic to red food coloring and always order the drink without the red sprinkles. Yesterday I stopped by the location on 3388 Poplar Avenue in Memphis, TN and ordered a "Grande Peppermint Mocha with no red sprinkles." The order was repeated as "a Grande Peppermint Mocha with no Whipped Cream?" and I corrected the employee and it was repeated correctly. After I left and had already started drinking I noticed it did have the sprinkles and I was running late for a class and couldn't make it back to the store to correct it.
Depending on how much red food coloring is in something I eat I experience anything from a mild headache to a migraine and vomiting. The amount on the Mocha I had before I noticed the sprinkles caused me to have a mild headache when I went to bed and to wake up multiple times overnight with a very bad headache and feeling like I needed to vomit. I still have a small lingering headache now from the sprinkles. Not everyone special orders drinks because they are picky, some of us have legitimate medical concerns and I don't believe that the employees at this location (and others) realize this. I would appreciate some action taken so employees take customer's special orders more seriously.
