Jan. 7th, 2002 11:06 pmDell...it seems like deja vu all over again. tonite I wanted to use a floppy disk. Not a common need, but you expect your floppy drive to work when you need it. Well...my floppy drive isn't working right now. I suspected my disk at first, but after 3 I decided to reboot I got "Diskette 0 Seek Failure". Now I had confirmed the drive is bad, so I hop over to the premier access support page on Dell's site that I use for work. I can request next day onsite support for my laptop, and have done it in the past. Everything seemed normal except that my laptop apparently has no support associated with it. It also STILL shows up as an Inspiron 8000 instead of the 8100 Dell gave me as a replacement. I have repeatedly asked my school's Dell rep to look into that issue and he always says he will. I have paid for a 3 year onsite freaking warranty, and I KNOW that I have used it since I got my replacement system. Now I need to use that warranty and it's GONE. This makes me so pissed off again. So much for playing with some DOS networking stuff like I wanted to. Now I have to e-mail Dell again and deal with all this crap I thought I was done with. grr...
