Nov. 7th, 2004 12:32 amphase 1 of getting my network reworked is finished. I have setup a new firewall that I'm going to replace my current one with when my ISP takes me down for some maintience soon. I'm using m0n0wall and I'm very impressed with it. I've always had 2 IPs from my ISP and I've never done much with the second one. What I'm going to do when I install this new router is have my server and lan on one IP and my wireless network on the second. The new router is going to have one of those splash pages where you have to read the acceptible use policies and click "I agree" before it'll give you access to the network. It'll keep my network secure and I'll be able to let people use my wireless on my second IP.
Phase 2 is hopefully next weekend when my ISP changes my connection to the Atlanta POP, and I get my new static IPs setup. Then the new router goes in.
