Oct. 5th, 2004 10:14 pmTonight I discovered the coolest use of technology I've seen in a while. It's called Podcasting, and despite the name you don't need an iPod to use it. What is a Podcast? Engadget's intro to it I read tonight defines it as this:
a Podcast is an audio file, a MP3, most likely, in talk show format, along with a way to subscribe to the show and have it automatically delivered to your iPod when you plug in to iTunes. The show isn’t live, so you can listen to it whenever you want.Basically I'm running a program on my computer that checks for updates on RSS feeds I subscribe to and downloads the new shows if they're available. I'll never miss Leo Laporte's radio show again!
