I don't know if I can take this much more. I was just working with the VP checking a script I did yesterday that will backup his Outlook data files to our server, which is in turn backed up nightly, and when checking the file I didn't see the contacts in it. It was just because I'm using Outlook 2003 and didn't notice that the contacts aren't under the parent folder from the data file like everything else, but under the contacts in a link to "Contacts in <data file name>." So now I'm all stressed out because I looked like a total moron in front of him AGAIN and he's already tried to fire me once. ARGH.

I wonder if there's any job openings coming up... ;)

It's not all that bad. At least you didn't lose the contacts. If he wants to use software that isn't supported by the University, he needs to do it at his own risk. It is really not your job to bow to his every whim.
