(no subject)

I forgot to mention in my last post something cool that's hopefully going to happen at work. I've been sitting on the idea that something was coming, but couldn't say anything. I figure it's ok to talk about it since my boss mentioned it at our staff meeting today. I'm currently a "Local Technical Support Provider 2." There's 3 levels, 1 being the level making the least, and 3 being the highest. There's only 2 other 3's on campus I think. I was told today that they're trying to reclassify my position to a "Local Technical Support Provider 3." w00t X 10! All I had been told before was that they were trying to get me one of the merit based raises that the UofM can do this year. The AVP did tell me he wanted me to be one of the highest paid LTSPs on campus though, so this might be a very nice bump. I'll be happy with anything though. It's good to be appreciated!

In sad news, my car stereo is dying. I can live with the LED backlight going out. I don't need to see what station I'm on at night anyways. I use my presets. I can live with the volume knob breaking off. I can turn the post just fine. What I can't live with is the volume FREAKING OUT and going to the loudest volume if I touch the volume post. There's probably a short in there somewhere. I was looking at getting a new stereo soon anyways, so now I can justify it. I'm looking at one with an AUX In port so I can plug my iPod directly in. Too bad the ones with real iPod connectors are too expensive. I'm probably going to spend around $170 or so, but I haven't settled on the model yet. A trip to Best (Worst) Buy and Circuit city is in my future.
