Feb. 18th, 2003 03:56 pmToday's been ok I guess. I had a nice lunch with Teresa today and work's been a bit slow. I have finally had it with not getting the money that DirecTVDsl stole from me by billing for a month of service when they told me they wouldn't have service any longer after that date. I was promised a credit almost a month ago and have yet to get it. I was billed on January 18th for $54.12 and I notified you as soon as I noticed you billed me for that service. I got an e-mail on January 21st of which I have pasted the contents below.
I have not received my credit, nor had any way of contacting your company until I noticed this form (which wasn't available when my account was deactivated). I demand to be credited the money that was due nearly a month ago before Febuary 28th or I will search for alternate means of recovering my money.
"Dear DIRECTV DSL customer,
Per your request, we have terminated your service.
You will not be charged a cancellation fee of any kind. If you already received the DIRECTV DSL gateway or if you receive it soon, you do not need to return it.
DIRECTV Broadband bills for services in advance. When a payment is reflected on your credit card statement, it is for the coming month of service. We will continue to charge for services provided. If you cancel your service, or if we terminate your service, your last bill will be pro-rated to your effective service termination date and the appropriate amount will be returned to your credit card as a refund. I have applied a credit in the amount of $54.12 due to delayed cancellation of service.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We suggest that you look for an alternate DSL provider. If you are a DIRECTV subscriber, your satellite television service will not be disrupted in any way.
Please direct any further inquires via our ‘Contact Us’ form on the website www.DIRECTVDSL.com

Sincerely,
Kathy T."
