I was heading to work a year ago today. I was on Walnut Grove halfway between Farm road and Humphrees Blvd. My radio was tuned to WREC AM 600. The morning show was on location at Snoden Elementary school for a weekly teacher award thing they do. Suddenly the radio cut to Peter Jennings and a audiocast of ABC news. Then I heard the unimaginable news.

Like you, I was late to work that morning... I heard on KLOVE, and then watched the TV coverage on R.C. Johnson's TV (athletic director for non-Memphis people.)
