Oct. 4th, 2005 11:37 pmUPS is such a horrible excuse for a company. I've been having DSL problems at home, and my ISP wanted Covad to check the line, but they wouldn't do it unless they knew the modem was good. So Speakeasy shipped me a loaner modem Thursday to test. Friday when I got home I had a little yellow note from UPS. They didn't try to deliver to the office, so Friday night Teresa and I went to the UPS place out near airways. They give you a window of 8:00 to 8:30. After being there until 10, there was about 3 or 4 other people that also haven't gotten their packages, and eventually a supervisor (not even from this center, she worked at a different one) discovered that our packages were lost. She took our info and said someone would call us Monday wether our packages were found or not.
Monday comes and goes. No call.
I call before my 5:30 class tonight and sure enough they found the package and it was waiting on me to pick up. They wouldn't change it back to delivery. After yelling (which is hard when you've lost your voice) and asking to talk to someone locally, they send a message to call the local office to call Teresa since I'd be in class. She was going to tell them to ship it and where to ship it to. I got an e-mail from Teresa in class (the class is a boring lecture class and we have wifi) saying they were going to call me at 8 because they didn't like the address. At 6:30 my phone vibrates. I don't answer because I'm in class, and I hate when people do that. When I get home and no one calls after 8, I call at 8:30. I get very irate and demand to speak to someone locally. They say they're closed locally and there's nothing I can do. Since I was there until 10pm on Friday I call her bluff and tell her I will speak to someone locally tonight. She finally talks to the local lady, and though I can't talk to her, she says she sent the information on where to ship the package (the street address this time) and it should be out for delivery tomorrow.
If it's not I'll be so pissed, and I'll even get Speakeasy to help if they can. I'm sending them a certified letter regardless that explains my complaints and how I'll be avoiding shipping with UPS if at all possible from now on.
