More stuff from this weekend.
I'm related to two of the defenders of the Alamo. I didn't know the full name of one until we went to the Alamo this weekend. That one is Patrick Henry Herndon from Virginia. The other is some guy named Crockett from Tennessee. I never believed that myself until I saw a copy of our family tree when I was in 7th grade. I seem to remember I found out doing an extra credit project for the dreaded Mr. Jackson's Social Studies class at White Station Jr. High.
Even though we kinda rushed through the Alamo it was still moving to me to see the actual possessions of Davy Crockett and to read about the defense of the mission.
