I just got the new Tivo Desktop software, to go along with the new 7.2b software that's on my Tivo now. The big feature is that with both of those, you can now move videos back onto the Tivo to watch on your TV. It has to be MPEG-2, which is what DVDs are, or previously downloaded shows from the Tivo. This makes archiving shows so much better, since I can pop them back onto the Tivo to watch again on the TV.
I tried to copy a video from a DVD a friend made of DeAngelo's touchdowns from last year, but I had to re-encode the video for it to work. Now that video's just a click away. Less than 2 weeks until VICTORY!
