Jan. 24th, 2005 02:28 pmwhat a few days...My car battery died late last week and we finally got around to trying to jump it off Saturday, but it wouldn't jump off
azngal324's battery. Sunday my dad came by and it did jump off his truck, and he wanted me to go to Sears and have them test the battery. They said the battery was going bad and I needed a new one, so we got one. I now have my car back and only had one slight problem. Saturns have something in their radios that lock them if they ever lose connection to the power source as an anti-theft device. That's nice and all, and I'm sure if I had bought the car new I would have been told about it, but I got the car used. I found online some buttons to push to get a number that would get a backdoor unlock code from Saturn. Sure enough, I call Saturn of Memphis today and the guy told me to press the numbers, and I gave him the results (that I already had) then he called corporate and got my code. My radio now works and I can listen to my talk radio again.
Don Poier died Friday. :( He was the voice of the Memphis Grizzlies and from all accounts a very genuine nice guy. All I know is he could call a game in a very unique way and I loved listening to him. He went apparently fell in love with Memphis when he moved here with the team and I think that came through the radio.
Johnny Carson also died over the weekend. I remember staying up late to watch him as a kid, and late night TV definately changed after he retired. Leno and Letterman are good, but the feel is different. What's amazing is how many of today's comics got their start due to him. That's a pretty nice legacy.
